I needed my father's DD214, or separation papers, after his passing- for him to receive the final military honors awarded a veteran for his service to his country- the folding of the US flag, the presentation of the flag to our family, and the playing of Taps. Having been in real estate, I knew firsthand the nightmare associated with trying to get a veteran's DD214. I read about Touchstone, felt I had nothing to lose, placed my order, and crossed my fingers. The order went thru on Satuday, & almost immediately I got a confirmation from a real person, telling me they had received the order and would give it their utmost attention. Sunday someone called to clarify a minute detail, which assured me they were really paying attention! They told me they would have someone at the records hall first thing Monday morning, and saw no reason why they couldn't have it to me by Monday night. Monday afternoon about 4:00, I received a copy of the DD214 via email, along with a confirmation that a hard copy was following with FedEx, and gave me the tracking number. So to TouchStone- THANK YOU. We have finally been able to print the actual obituary and set a date for the memorial service- something we hadn't been able to do until we got the DD214. You cannot believe how unimaginably hard it is to have someone pass & know everyone's heard about it- and are running to the newspaper everyday for the obituary, only to find "Arrangements to be Announced" under the deceased's name. This has brought peace to us, his friends, and his family members, and most of all- allows us to give him this final honor that he never expected- but so much deserved. Thank you again.
