If you absolutely have to a military record as fast as possible and don't live close to where it happens to be stored and or know the processes necessary to obtain your own records, then this service is a viable option. They are very good about communicating with you quickly and updating you when they have news. They are also open to reasonable changes in your request, like new mailing address etc. Two things to consider: this service is expensive and they rely on the government to retrieve documents. That could take one day, or in my case, two weeks. Don't be mislead by the rapid mailing assurances. They tell you they are at the mercy of the storage facility and personnel. Even if they send it to you, next-day air, if the gov't takes two weeks, you wait two weeks. Otherwise Touchstone delivers as promised. [Yes, it depends on which Government facility has your record. If it is a digital facility, we can get records in a few hours! Analog facilities on average take 2-4 days. Each request is unique.
